PRODUCTION
If you are an artist, band, singer songwriter who is very serious about your craft, you need your product to be the absolute best it can be. It is for this reason that every album you own has been 'produced' by someone other than the artist themselves. You need an unbiased, objective direction that is strongly educated in the field to make your song rise above the rest. We call this individual a 'Producer'.
WHY A PRODUCER?
Think of a Producer as an 'active consultant'. In the same way when we seek legal advice, we seek a lawyer, when we need financial advice, we seek an accountant or financial advisor, and so on. Producers are for the career minded artist, or those hobbyists who want to take their craft to the next level.
The Producer has the knowledge to identify the strengths and weaknesses of a song, proper arrangements and knows how to create and accentuate the 'hooks'. 'Hooks' are the intangible memorable parts that make a song stick in ones head. Have you ever had a song stuck in your head that you don't like? Hooks!
There is no audio software, no million dollar mixing console, no mic that can create and identify hooks. This can ONLY be done by a human being.
Let's take AC/DC for example. Over 100 million albums sold. A career that has spanned over 3 decades. Every guy in the band has their own personal studio setups. These guys know how to make a hit!!! Yet... They still hire a 'Producer'.
Randy Solski: PRODUCER
Education, abilities, experience, and creativity are all qualities you will find in Randy's Bio. Randy is a full time Producer/Engineer/Multi Instrumental Session player of over 20 years. This is what he has done, this is what he has lived for. Clients from as far away as the Czech Republic have employed his production services.
Once you have established that the Producer you seek is a full time, QUALIFIED "working in the business" producer... You need to make sure you all share the same vision of the project.
Randy's Production Philosophy
Randy describes himself as a "Passive" producer. Even though Randy often contributes to the writing and creative process, he believes in letting the artist be the artist whom they are. Not a manufactured compilation of clips and snips many of today's artists are built upon. He knows how to pull the true performances out of the artist, that will prove as true to the listener as surprising to the artist themselves.
What Will This Cost Me?
Every project is different and entails different duties. Therefore, it is very hard to project the budget for your project until we established what needs to be done. Randy and RS SOUNDS prides itself on the quality of work for the low price. We understand that most of the projects are self-funded by the artist. Therefore, we keep our rates highly competitive.
"You are going to face Simon Cowell, so put your best foot forward."
Here's the biggest mistake in the business, and is more often than not, CAREER SUICIDE for artists who think they can save a buck by recording their project themselves or by recording with:
* The “mechanic” who can't start on your songs until 7pm when he gets home from his ‘real' job
* The "guy” who knows a lot about computers
* The “kid” who just bought Pro Tools and he's willing to do your album for free
Your goal at this level is to get your product into the hands of people who get thousands of demos and indie albums that sound better than what some major labels are releasing. First chances are rare, second chances usually never happen.
If you're serious about your music, GET A FULL TIME PRODUCER.
